The University of Nairobi (UON) is set to celebrate World GIS day 2018 on 15th November 2018. Every year, this forum brings together a range of stakeholders and users of geographic information system (GIS) technologies who showcase its real world applications.
The event will focus on the role and place of GIS in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Keynote speeches, presentations of GIS projects and panel discussions are some of the exciting activities planned for the day. Topics planned for discussions include incorporating GIS in artificial intelligence and its impacts and the role of geospatial technologies in achieving the SDGs and Kenya’s Big Four Agenda.
